Above knuckle rings

[ via ]

A couple of months ago I started seeing above knuckle rings popping up on blogs and Youtube videos! I instantly fell in love! I liked the simplicity of them and that they were abit different from normal rings. I then began searching for the perfect ring. I wanted a good quality one that wouldn't turn my finger green and ideally I wanted it to be silver. There were very few around when I started looking, and I did try wearing a topshop toe ring (it was a gold and turquoise swirly ring) above the knuckle of my right ring finger and it was cute for abit but then it broke. :( Then I saw this blog post, and loved the ring ALOT! Even though Laura listed a cheaper alternative, I still wasn't quite ready to pay £20 for a ring. So i began my search again! I typed 'silver knot ring' into etsy and this seller came up.

I sent him a message asking if it was possible to have it in a size 4.5 and he replied very quickly saying yes. So I ordered it, then and there! It cost about £7.30 and took just over a week to arrive from America. I was absolutely delighted! It fit perfectly and was great quality.

I also came packaged in this cute box! ^.^

Look how cute it is!?! :-D
It fits my index or middle finger perfectly and doesn't turn my finger green!!!

After owning this ring (and loving it) for about two weeks I put it in my pocket when at a friend's house and it must have fallen out...so I lost it. I was SO gutted! I tried to look for it, and put off repurchasing for about a month.
Then I started looking at above knuckle rings again and found the ones at Wired Jewellery and really liked the wishbone ring. It would have come to about £11.95 and so I decided to hold off on getting it for abit and just repurchase my beloved knot ring. I sent a message to the seller when buying to explain why I was buying the same ring again and he sent back a kind reply saying he would make it quickly and send it the next day.
I received the little parcel 8 days later and opened to to find this little note.

I didn't fully understand what he meant until I opened the box to find that he had sent two rings!! I was over the moon! I obviously had only paid for one, and received two! Because of this I decided I had to share these rings with you on my blog. You don't come across kindness like this every day and it really touched me :]]
(and obviously they are also really great rings!!)

Final close up ;)

Foundation for Pale Skin SWATCHES

Hello lovelies :]]

A while ago I did a blog post on different foundations that I've tried.
I didn't do any swatches, but decided this morning that before I throw some of the darker colours away I should do some quickly!

Here are the foundations that I own at the moment:
 From left to right:
Maybelline Dreamy Creamy - Light Porcelain (4)
Natural Collection Colour  - Porcelain
Maybelline Pure Liquid Mineral - Porcelain (008)
Maybelline Pure Liquid Mineral - Ivory (010)
Max Factor Lasting Performance - Natural Beige (106) (tester, so did not chose colour)
Bourgjois Healthy Mix - Vanille Clair - (51)
Gosh X-Ceptional Wear - Porcelain (11)
Revlon Colorstay - Ivory 110

Here are the swatches on my arm in the same order as above:

 [Close ups]

Ok, so you can see from the swatches that some brands
*cough* yes, maybelline I do mean you *cough*
don't know what Ivory or Porcelain are!
hehe
I went for about half a year at least LOVING Bourjois,
but I just tried it today and it made me look orange! How is that even possible!?!?! :P

And then I loved Revlon Colorstay for ages, and it is the PERFECT colour...BUT it doesn't last on my skin. :( It melted by my nose (where my face is oiliest) :(( It is super sad cos I did love it.

Then I got Gosh X-Ceptional on a whim, and even though it isn't quite pale enough;
it doesn't matter. It lasts and looks nice and natural :D

Do any of you struggle to find the perfect shade of foundation?
Do any of you lovely pale girls have a (cheap) foundation I should try?

Cherry Blossom Nail-art Tutorial

What I used:
Cotton Buds/Q-tips
Sellotape
False Nails
Nail polishes of my choice:
Barry M - Blue Moon
Elf - Innocent
China Glaze - Sunset Sail
Models own Black nail art pen
Bourjois - Blanc Glamour
 Seche Vite topcoat

After making I sure I had 10 nails that all fit, I stuck them to the ends of cotton buds with sellotape, which makes painting them easier. (If you are doing this on your own nails, you can skip this step!)
I made sure that both the thumb nails were stuck to the same cotton bud and so on.

I then painted 2 coats of the light blue (I used Barry M - Blue Moon) and left it do dry completely.

Then I dripped some of both of the the light pinks (Elf - Innocent & China Glaze - Sunset Sail) onto a piece of plastic.

I used a makeup sponge to lightly dab a mixture of the two over the blue.
This is optional of course, but I like the effect it gave!

When that was completely dry, I used my Black Models own nail art pen to paint the branches.

Next use a dotting tool (I used a hairpin bent out of shape!!) dipped in the white nailpolish to make the blossoms. I did 4 dots for some of them, and 3 for the other.

When that was dry, I put on dot (Elf - Innocent) in the middle of each blossom.
I finished with a Seche Vite topcoat!

[I used Nailene 200 full cover nails - Petite Square]
{sorry that some of the pictures are super blurry...I was using my phone camera :P}

Did you enjoy my first tutorial? ;)
